Course List

This information below introduces the basic course descriptors for the main presentations currently on offer. Further information including objectives, learning outcomes and the assessment material used are available on request. All courses are designed with a maximum of 8 candidates to ensure the opportunity of maximum practical involvement building confidence and experience. All refreshments throughout the day including a sandwich lunch are included in the course costs as are the training and assessment materials.

Basic Satellite installation and Servicing:

This two day course presumes no previous knowledge or experience of Satellite technology and builds the necessary skills and competences required for a Digital Satellite Installer. The two day course uses a blend of academic knowledge with practical experience of the main techniques, to build confidence in the skill areas for this role. The course develops many of the important techniques associated with Satellite installation and service and explores these through a variety of learning medias. Assessments are used at the end of the course and throughout the presentation to ensure the candidate is progressing satisfactorily.

Although this course requires no previous knowledge, it would be beneficial to any installer who has not received previous formal training in this subject.

Basic Aerial Installation and Service:

As above this two day course presumes no previous knowledge or experience of Aerial Installation and builds the necessary skills and competences required for an Analogue or Digital Aerial Installer. The two day course uses a blend of academic knowledge with practical experience of the main techniques, to build confidence in the skill areas for this role. The course develops many of the important techniques associated with Aerial installation and service and explores these through a variety of learning medias. Assessments are used at the end of the course and throughout the presentation to ensure the candidate is progressing satisfactorily.

Although this course requires no previous knowledge, it would be beneficial to any installer who has not received previous formal training in this subject.

High Definition Satellite Reception:

This one day presentation develops further the knowledge and skills from the basic Satellite course to include High Definition "HD" reception. The course explores the various HD formats available and considers the development of HD to the point we are at present. A particular interest is given to the connection possibilities between the varying HD ready receivers on offer at present and practical experience is given in identifying the best strategy for these connections.

Introduction to IRS and Home Distribution:

A one day presentation that considers the main challenges an installer faces in the ever popular home distribution systems that are becoming common place in domestic installations. Through practical and knowledge based training the candidates consider the many different types of system possibilities and work through strategies to ensure the best option is developed to ensure customer needs are met.

Broadband by Satellite

A one day course that introduces broadband by satellite as an alternative to fixed landline or mobile versions currently available. This system is providing a service to areas that, up to now, could not receive, or had limited access to, broadband. Again a very practical presentation culminating in testing a system as in a customers environment.
